Unify Attendee Experience for Mainland China and Global Traffic

We are launching a system update to provide a unified attendee experience for both Mainland China and global traffic.

In the past, EventX event URLs were separated into https://spot.eventx.io/{{event_id}} and https://spot.eventx.com.cn/{{event_id}} to handle Mainland China and global traffic. This is not ideal, as attendees and organizers would need to manually distinguish the optimal URL for different demographics. We were only able to obtain an ICP license for https://eventx.com.cn, but not for https://eventx.io, due to ICP policy limitations.

We have recently released an upgrade to provide a unified experience.

Starting from Jan 9, 2024, all new event created on the platform will be follow this structure: https://eventxapp.com/events/{{event_id}}. The previous URL structure still be working, it will redirect to https://eventxapp.com/events/{{event_id}}. By default, the URL of the event will be in this format https://eventxapp.com/events/{{event_id}}

All existing events (including events with custom domain) will be unchanged. At the same time, all existing events will have eventxapp.com version URL, but we don’t disclose it on the product frontend at this moment.

EventX will automatically handle mainland China and global traffic to ensure the best experience.

Additionally, https://eventxapp.com/ is a domain with an ICP license.

All newly created event will be showing this structure, to provide unified experience https://eventxapp.com/events/{{event_id}}

All existing events will not be impact and URL to access them remain the same:

Global version: https://spot.eventx.io/events/{{event_id}}

CN version: https://spot.eventx.com.cn/events/{{event_id}}

If organiser clicked enter event, it will goes to https://eventxapp.com/events/{{event_id}} automatically for all the events created after Jan 4, 2024

On marketing site, the default login portal URL will change to https://portal.eventxapp.com

https://portal.eventx.io and https://portal.eventx.com.cn will remained unchanged on the behaviour.

For all newly created event after Jan 9, 2024, event short URL will all redirect to https://eventxapp.com/events/{{event_id}}

For all newly created event after Jan 9, 2024, magic-link URL will all redirect to https://eventxapp.com/events/{{event_id}}

attendeeMagicLinkCN merge tag on the email will be removed on newly created event. This is because the magiclink will be automatically handles traffic in both Mainland China and Global.
