RTMP Live Streaming Setup Guide
Introduction
EventX now supports RTMP live streaming directly within the portal, allowing organizers to stream external live content into event sessions more flexibly.
To use this feature:
-
RTMP is already embedded within the EventX portal and can be selected directly as the live streaming tool
-
Please contact your Project Manager or Account Manager if you cannot find this tool
-
OBS Studio must be downloaded and installed separately by the organizer for streaming setup and broadcast management
What is RTMP?
RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol) is a streaming protocol commonly used for delivering live video content over the internet in real time.
It enables stable video transmission between your streaming software and the EventX platform.
Why we use RTMP?
-
Supports stable and high-quality live streaming
-
Compatible with multiple streaming platforms and devices
-
Flexible setup for webinars, hybrid events, and live productions
-
Allows integration with external meeting or broadcasting tools such as Zoom or YouTube
What is OBS?
OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software) is a free and widely used live streaming software that allows organizers to manage video sources and broadcast livestream content through RTMP.
OBS can be used to:
-
Capture screens or applications
-
Stream Zoom meetings or YouTube Live sessions
-
Manage audio/video layouts for professional broadcasting
How to Download OBS
You can download OBS Studio from the official website:

Recommended OBS Settings
To achieve better streaming quality and stability, we recommend configuring OBS according to the following settings:

-
There will be approximately 15 seconds of delay during livestream playback. This buffering delay helps ensure a more stable streaming experience for attendees.
